"The devil is in the details." It was this timeless idiom that inspired us to add some special details to the latest Earth Bands (v2.1). With the recent addition of the aluminum tension tube (making each bracelet adjustable + removable) we felt there was still something missing. . .
So, we went back to the laboratory and began exploring possible solutions. We played with laser etching, painting, die-casting and eventually fell in love with metal stamping. This tried and true technique has been used in jewelry making for years -- producing great results.
The process involves each tension tube getting inserted (or slipped over) a metal rod with the same inside diameter as the tube. We then go along the rod with a stamp and hammer & "pop" the impression into the tube -- <3 heart on one side -- USA on the other. The finishing touch comes when we color the impression to compliment the fabric tag and bead. These new details create that special touch we were looking for. Enjoy! :)
Lab coats and late nights have been the norm here at Earth Bands headquarters. We've been working hard over the last couple of weeks experimenting and developing the second generation of Earth Bands. Our faithful wearers have shared some great feedback and suggestions with us, and we've been listening :)
The most frequently shared suggestion was: "It would be great if they were removable." So, making the second generation Earth Bands removable has been our mission -- and we have succeeded!
We have developed a (soon to be revealed) solution that works via a "tension tube".
The two ends of the hemp cord are threaded through the slightly smaller tube and knotted off. With this -- the wearer can pull the two knots apart or away from each other (tighten) or slide the knots together (loosen) the bracelet to be removed from the wrist. With that -- we have created an one size fits all solution that looks great and works nicely thanks to good ol' Mr. Friction ;)
Only 3 days away. . .
It's been a busy couple of weeks in the Earth Bands manufacturing department preparing for the 36th Annual Bridge Day in Fayetteville West Virginia. This will be our fist year at the event with an expected 100,000 people attending on Saturday. Stop by our booth and say hi -- and checkout the West Virginia Earth Band :)
Talk to a real person
It's true, you can now talk to real people on earthbands.co. We have recently launched live chat on our site with Lance or Sandra answering your questions. Yes, you will be chatting with the actual makers of Earth Bands. Find us online or leave us a message :)
Our Press Release is out . . .
To be honest, writing a Press Release can be a bit of a challenge (at least for us:). After multiple edits and revisions, we finally received finial approval from our distributor PRWeb to publish it live this morning @ 8am. You can check it out here.
It's still a little early to know for sure -- but we are eagerly anticipating a phone call from Ellen (The Ellen DeGeneres Show) or possibly a private message from Good Morning America. We'll let you know if we hear anything there ;)
How social are we?
Every Thursday we sit down and take a moment to asses our social media channels. Here is a look at where we started, and where we are today.

Earth Bands has launched and is now propelling into space
We have been busy little bees fulfilling orders and connecting with everyone on our Facebook Twitter & Instagram accounts. As of today, we have sold over 3,000 Earth Bands to our amazing supporters and fans :)
Earth Bands has launched -!- It's been an amazing three year journey since Mark Vaughan's vision and idea popped into his head. Riddled with highs and lows along the way -- today couldn't feel any better :) Here's to the amazing ride and journey ahead ...
Like all good things
it begins in the kitchen -- right? Well, some of our best work comes out of the kitchen here in Dunsmuir. We have been working tirelessly to get our product launch marketing plan mapped out and ready to go. The clock is ticking and we are getting closer everyday -- oh wait, I just added 5 more things to my list...
We love getting our hands dirty. Here is a look into the Earthbead making process with the Earth Band Crew :)
